Sarah C. Townsend
MA, MFA, LMHC
Sarah is a licensed mental health counselor providing individual psychotherapy for adults and expressive play therapy for children (ages 3 and up). She graduated with a Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Northwestern University in 1994. Since that time, she has worked in community mental health, hospital, group and private practice settings. She was a former program director for Childhaven in Seattle and co-founded Peacock Family Services on Bainbridge Island. She has served as a board and advisory committee member of Perinatal Support Washington. In 2016, Sarah completed a Master of Fine Arts in writing from Goddard College. Sarah has postgraduate training through the Centre for Expressive Therapy, the Center for Object Relations--Northwest Family Development Center, and Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
